Popular social media figure VeryDarkMan, also known as VDM, has addressed comments made by reality TV star Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, who labeled him a “Very Dirty Boy” and accused him of contributing to the breakdown of her relationship with actress Iyabo Ojo.
He provided his side of the story and a rebuttal in a detailed public statement shared recently.
Phyna had earlier alleged that her association with VeryDarkMan significantly contributed to the collapse of her relationship with Iyabo Ojo.
Speaking during a recent livestream on Twitch, she said: “She [Iyabo Ojo] was having issues with V [VeryDarkMan]. So, I tweeted a reply to V because V made a statement, but it was mistaken.
“Since then, I think Mama doesn’t like me that much anymore; she used to comment on my posts and like them. Now she no longer likes them and she no longer follows me. I’m very sure it’s because of the dirty boy, but it’s something I have to face.”

Reacting to the claims, VeryDarkMan said he was deeply disappointed by the accusation, maintaining that his support for Phyna was always sincere and unconditional.
He explained that he consistently showed up for the BBNaija winner at different stages of her career, including reposting promotions for her films and offering guidance on both personal and professional matters.
According to the activist, he made himself accessible whenever Phyna reached out—whether she needed advice, paid promotional support, or help with family-related concerns—stressing that he often assisted without expecting anything in return.
“Whether it was helping with film promotions, offering advice on personal matters, or assisting with family-related concerns, I made myself available,” he said.
He went on to question what benefit he personally derived from the relationship, emphasising that his actions were motivated by loyalty and goodwill, rather than personal gain.
Reflecting on past controversies, VeryDarkMan hinted that greed and certain choices eventually strained their bond, adding that several people who once supported Phyna have since stepped back as public interest in her has waned.
Despite the disagreement, the internet personality concluded on a peaceful note, stating that he bears no bitterness and sincerely wishes Phyna success in her future pursuits.
