Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has condemned the recent attacks on schools and worship centres in parts of the country, describing the sponsors of such incidents as enemies of Nigeria. He said no attempt to intimidate or derail ongoing security efforts would succeed.
Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Uzodimma said members of the All Progressives Congress remain united behind President Bola Tinubu as his administration works to confront insecurity. He noted that both the Federal and State Governments are committed to staying the course despite efforts by individuals he described as desperate to distract or discredit the government through violence targeted at innocent citizens.
The meeting gathered state and zonal coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for a review session on the administration’s achievements and a discussion on strengthening public engagement.
After a closed-door segment that lasted about three hours, Uzodimma restated the resolve of APC governors to resist those fueling instability and to continue pushing the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.
As part of the inauguration activities, vehicles were handed over to coordinators to support mobilisation efforts nationwide. Uzodimma urged political leaders to put national unity above partisan interests, warning that insecurity often thrives where politicians exploit public concerns for personal advantage.
He said defeating insurgents and criminal networks requires cooperation, intelligence sharing, and stronger ties between communities and security agencies.
The governor encouraged citizens to remain alert and report suspicious activities, stressing that restoring peace is a shared duty. He expressed confidence that with sustained public support, Nigeria will overcome its current security challenges and move toward lasting stability and development.
