The Trump Organization announced on Monday the launch of Trump Mobile, a new mobile phone service, as part of its expanding business empire during Donald Trump’s presidency.
The service, operating under the T1 Mobile brand, will function as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), leasing coverage from major U.S. telecom providers—Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
The flagship plan, dubbed the “47 Plan”, offers nationwide 5G coverage for $47.45/month, a symbolic reference to Trump being the 47th U.S. president. Trump Mobile will also release a proprietary smartphone in August 2025.
T1 Mobile will also begin selling a smartphone for $499 in August. according to the company’s website, which says the phone will be “proudly designed and built in the United States.”
“Our goal is to give Americans a patriotic, private, and powerful alternative in the mobile space.”
The T1 Phone, which features a gold-accented design, is reportedly assembled domestically, though the company has not disclosed its contractors. The smartphone, according to the official site, will ship with a pre-installed “America First” digital ecosystem, including apps from Truth Social and other Trump-affiliated platforms.

The push into mobile phone technology marks the Trump family’s latest diversification step of recent years.
In early 2021, Donald Trump launched Trump Media and Technology Group, owner of the Truth Social platform, which soon plans to introduce new investment products.
In September 2024, the Trump family threw its support behind World Liberty Financial, a new cryptocurrency platform that sells stablecoins linked to the dollar.
Hours before his January inauguration, Trump launched his own personal crypto memecoin, $TRUMP.
Trump administration officials have dismissed questions about conflict of interest as Trump seeks to make money while serving as president, in part by pointing to the transparent nature of his business ventures.
Critics have raised serious concerns about potential conflicts of interest, especially as these ventures continue while Trump holds office.
“This is the looting of America in broad daylight,” said Craig Holman of Public Citizen, a Washington-based watchdog group. “Foreign and domestic actors now have a direct channel to curry favor through consumer purchases.”
“We’ve seen presidents run businesses before, but never anything at this scale while in office,” noted Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore). “It sets a dangerous precedent.”
The Trump administration has responded by emphasizing transparency.
“These are clearly disclosed, lawful business operations,” said Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. “The American people have a right to support the president through free market choices.”
