The Ogun State Government has moved to prosecute TikTok content creator Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a string of road crashes that officials say pose a growing danger to the public.
In a statement issued on its official X handle on Monday, the Ministry of Justice said it had directed that Abiodun’s pending case from Sagamu be accelerated to ensure his prompt arraignment.
The case concerns the 1 November 2025 incident in Sagamu, Ogun State, where Abiodun reportedly rammed into two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger seriously injured. Eyewitnesses said he attempted to flee the scene but was held back by passersby.
The statement read: “While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one such person.”
The government noted that at least two of Abiodun’s recent crashes had been captured on video and were “self-evident”, adding that his “heedless return to the wheel with no greater care just three weeks after makes it imperative that the state must intervene to protect the public – especially as there is an organic outcry against his continued driving.”
The ministry further revealed that Abiodun was involved in another incident on 23 November 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State — a lone-car crash that narrowly missed hitting pedestrians. “This lone car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes,” it said.
According to the release, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has now ordered officers to fast-track prosecution.
“Accordingly, the Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice – Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN – has directed relevant officers to expedite action on the pending crash case from Sagamu for prompt arraignment,” the statement said.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with law enforcement to safeguard road users, adding: “The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the police to achieve this outcome.”
