Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, former governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, is set to be crowned the 44th Olubadan on Friday, September 26, 2025. The coronation will take place at the historic Mapo Hall in the heart of Ibadan, Oyo State.

The confirmation came from the media aide to the Olubadan-designate, Adeola Oloko, who said:

“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025. The ceremony is billed for the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.”

This development follows the unanimous endorsement of Ladoja by the Olubadan-in-Council after the passing of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan, on July 7, 2025. His nomination was moved by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded by Oba Eddy Oyewole, the Osi Olubadan. The nomination was then submitted to Governor Seyi Makinde, who gave the final approval.

Chief Oloko also confirmed that all traditional and administrative protocols had been completed, paving the way for a smooth and grand coronation event.
