Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has alleged that a coordinated campaign is being orchestrated to damage his reputation, using recent controversies surrounding his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, as a tool.
In a statement on Sunday, the lawmaker claimed that a “syndicate of pull-down-Ned” group had taken advantage of public interest in his family to spread false narratives aimed at tarnishing his image and distracting him from his legislative duties.
According to Nwoko, the smear campaign involves individuals and online platforms deliberately distorting facts and circulating unfounded stories to create division and public outrage.
“There is a syndicate committed to pulling me down, and they are exploiting my wife’s popularity to achieve their aim,” the senator said. “They twist stories and fabricate lies, but Nigerians are wiser now. I will not be distracted from my work for my people.”

Nwoko, who is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), noted that his focus remains on delivering meaningful development to Delta North through legislation, education, and youth empowerment programs.
He also warned those behind the campaign to desist or face legal consequences, emphasizing that he would not allow his family to be used as a pawn in what he described as “cheap political blackmail.”
“I am aware of their tactics, but I will not engage in media wars with them,” he said. “The truth will always prevail. My record and my contributions to my constituents speak for themselves.”
The senator, who has often faced public scrutiny due to his high-profile marriage to actress Regina Daniels, urged his supporters to ignore social media propaganda and focus on the progress being made in the senatorial district.
Nwoko’s statement comes amid renewed online discussions linking Regina Daniels to alleged political and business controversies, which the couple has repeatedly dismissed as baseless.
The lawmaker reiterated his commitment to transparency and service, assuring his constituents that no amount of defamation would derail his vision for Delta North.
