The Chairman of Bariga Local Government Area of Lagos State, Kolade Alabi, on Wednesday, suddenly slumped at the All Progressives Congress stakeholders’ meeting held at the party’s Secretariat in Ikeja, the state capital.
Alibi, who is also the chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) slumped while addressing a gathering at the APC’s stakeholders’ meeting.
The event and the incident took place at the party’s Secretariat on Acme Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
The incident, which happened at around 12:10 p.m., caused a stir among attendees, prompting swift intervention. It was gathered that Alabi was delivering his remarks when he abruptly lost consciousness and collapsed.

Immediate efforts were made to revive him, and he was quickly rushed to an undisclosed hospital for urgent medical attention.
A short video of the incident shared on X showed when Alabi was being rushed to the hospital.
However, the cause of Alabi’s sudden collapse has not yet been disclosed.
Meanwhile, the APC stakeholders’ meeting was momentarily suspended following the incident, with many expressing concern and offering prayers for Alabi’s swift recovery.
