INEC Recognises David Mark-Led ADC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recognised Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively, of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The confirmation was displayed on the website of INEC on Wednesday.

The recognition came after an internal restructuring that resulted in the emergence of national officers to reposition the party further ahead of the 2027 general elections.

INEC equally recognised other interim national officers of the opposition party.

David Mark had emerged as interim National Chairman last July at an elaborate ceremony held at Yar’Adua Conference Centre in Abuja, following the resignation of the immediate past National Chairman of the party, Ralph Nwosu.

The Commission had since posted the names of David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola and Dr Mani Ibrahim as National Chairman, National Secretary and National Treasurer, respectively, on its website.

Also included on the Commission’s website as national officers are Akibu Dalhatu and Professor Oserheimen Osunbor as National Financial Secretary and National Legal Adviser.

The recognition of the David Mark-led ADC put paid to the raging leadership tussle within the party.

Tribune Online checks revealed that Ralph Nwosu had, in a correspondence to INEC dated July 29, 2025 and addressed to INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu had informed the latter of resolutions of the National Executive Committee of the ADC held on same date “which empowers NEC to exercise the powers and perform all the functions of the National Convention pending the next national convention.”

The correspondence equally listed the names of David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola and 42 National Officers of the party.
