Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has reacted to the backlash trailing her recent comments about Tonto Dikeh’s failed marriage to Olakunle Churchill.
Her response comes a few hours after she released a video denying that she ever knew, met, or had any personal relationship with Tonto Dikeh during the period the actress was still married to Churchill.
Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill ended their marriage in 2017, following allegations that Churchill had an extramarital affair with Meurer. At the time, Meurer was also accused of being Tonto’s close friend.
In an earlier video, Meurer denied the claims of extra-marital affairs and described herself as a family friend of the former couple.
”He (Churchill) and his wife remain family to me. We once hang out together before,” Meurer said at the time.
Four years after the divorce, Meurer later married Churchill, a development that triggered criticism on social media, with many social media users accusing her of taking her friend’s husband.

While addressing the controversy again in a new Instagram video on Wednesday, Meurer insisted that she never had any relationship with Tonto Dikeh in the past.
Her new statement sparked fresh backlash, as many accused her of contradicting her previous comments.
Reacting to the criticism, Meurer shared a lengthy post on Instagram where she explained that the earlier video, where she referred to Churchill and Tonto as “family friends,” was made under pressure from her management.
She claimed that she was forced to lie at the time, writing: “You want me to hang on to the nonsense old video I made in fear due to the fact that I was so young and innocent.
“I was dragged into violence by force. With all the pressure then, PR team will make you say many things even if you don’t feel it is right.
“Right now whatever I say is THE REAL TRUTH. I am now older and wiser. No PR team can force me to say what they believed is better than my truth. If you like, bring videos of 1000 years ago. It does not change my reality,” she said.
