The passing of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan on July 24 from cardiac arrest has sparked widespread grief, but also renewed attention to the late star’s relationship with his daughter, Brooke Hogan.
New reports have revealed that Brooke, 37, had requested to be removed from her father’s will as far back as 2023, well before his death out of a desire to avoid the chaos of inheritance disputes and to protect him from individuals she believed were exploiting him.
According to TMZ, Brooke made the decision to detach herself from the estate for personal and protective reasons. She reportedly contacted Hulk Hogan’s financial manager directly, asking to be removed as a beneficiary. Her motivation, as described in the report, was to “not get caught up in a financial battle when he passed” and to shield her father from what she saw as manipulative influences.
“She was saddened to hear that Hulk Hogan did not trust her to have his back, but at the end of the day, not getting a piece of the pie does not matter to her even in the slightest,” the report added.
While she will receive a small sum from a life insurance trust set up by her father, Brooke is not expected to gain from his broader estate. She plans to use the trust money for her children’s college education. The 37-year-old is financially secure, with a career spanning reality television, music, and her own brand.
In an emotional Instagram post following her father’s death, Brooke paid tribute to him while reflecting on their complex relationship. “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him. I felt it before the news even reached us,” she wrote. “I know he’s at peace now, out of pain, and in a place as beautiful as he imagined. He used to speak about this moment with such wonder and hope. Like meeting God was the greatest championship he’d ever have.”
Brooke also used the post to “clear a few things up” regarding their estrangement. “It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand. My father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself,” she wrote.
She revealed that despite the emotional connection they had, something changed between them. “He was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit. I felt a disconnect. What followed were respectful disagreements that took an emotional toll on me.”

Ultimately, Brooke said she stepped away to protect her own emotional well-being. “I know in my heart I did everything I could. He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”
In a second post, she wrote: “My Dearest Daddy, You were my everything, and I will always be your girl. I am PROUD to be your daughter—for all the love, light, and goodness you brought into this world. Thank you for choosing me in this lifetime, and for loving me so deeply. Our bond is eternal. That truth brings me comfort and hope, even in your absence. I love you more than all the stars in the sky, 4LifeAfterLife. Forever yours, Brooke.”
Brooke Hogan’s relationship with her father was widely publicized, beginning with their appearances on the hit reality show Hogan Knows Best, and later its spin-off Brooke Knows Best. She also joined her father in TNA Wrestling in 2012, serving as an on-screen manager for the Knockouts division. She was even involved in his final WWE storyline in 2006 alongside Randy Orton.
At the time of writing, it remains unclear who will inherit Hulk Hogan’s full estate, including his trademarks, intellectual property, and other assets.
