Nollywood star Eniola Badmus has sparked online debate after posting photos of herself at what she described as the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Eniola, who is also an aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to speak at the event. She shared that her address focused on innovation, gender inclusion, and collaborative efforts toward a sustainable energy future.
“Grateful to speak at #UNGA on innovation, gender inclusion & partnerships for a sustainable energy future.
I’m also grateful to have attended the Future Africa Forum 2025 at The Africa Center, powered by Afreximbank’s Global Africa Gateway,” she wrote. “It was an incredible opportunity to connect, share, and learn alongside brilliant young leaders who are shaping the future of our continent. The conversations, collaborations, and networks built here are priceless, and I look forward to seeing how these connections spark new possibilities for Africa’s growth and transformation.”

While many praised the actress for her accomplishment, some social media users questioned her claims. Critics stormed her Instagram and Twitter pages, arguing that the photos were actually taken at the Nigerian Embassy in New York and not at the UNGA.
One X user wrote, “This is the Nigerian Embassy in New York (Nigerian House), not the UN Building. It wasn’t a #UNGA event, and she did not speak there. The clout chasing is excessive.”
