Senator Ede Dafinone (APC Delta Central) has commissioned the Students Union Government (SUG) Relaxation Centre at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), with a robust endorsement from the student community.
During the event on Monday, the Senator described the centre as a commendable initiative completed by the 13th SUG Administration under the leadership of Comr. Edemakiota Etiosa Oghenemaro.
“This project is a clear testament to the creativity, dedication, and commitment of the student leadership to enhancing campus life and student welfare”, he stated.
He also recalled that “two months ago, the SUG leadership paid me a courtesy visit to express appreciation for my contributions to FUPRE, including the ongoing construction of an ultra-modern 50-bedroom hostel, as well as my broader efforts toward peace, development, and progres.
“During that visit, I was invited to commission their student-led projects on campus, and I was pleased to honour that invitation today.
“I am delighted to support youth-driven initiatives and purposeful leadership. The commissioning of this Relaxation Centre, alongside the hostel project, reflects our shared commitment to empowering young leaders, improving student welfare, and promoting institutional growth.”
Senator Dafinone emphatically commended Comr. Edemaki Ota Etiosa, the SUG leadership, and all the students who contributed to the successful delivery of the project.
“Your dedication is inspiring. I encourage you to continue upholding high standards of leadership, service, and excellence”, he added.
