Chris Brown Deactivates IG Account

American singer Chris Brown has deactivated his Instagram account with over 75 million followers after declaring he was taking a break from social media, saying, “Y’all done pissed me off long enough.”

The reason for the move remains unclear, though it comes amid recent controversies, including reports he charged a fan $1,200 for a photo and ongoing legal battles.

Chris Brown deactivated his Instagram account after insisting he’s not a “colorist” who shows preference to lighter-skinned Black women.

Shortly before deactivating his Instagram profile on Tuesday (Sept. 16), the two-time Grammy winner posted an image of his and media personality Kayla Nicole’s steamy onstage dance.

Nicole, who’s the former girlfriend of NFL star Travis Kelce, danced seductively with Brown to his 2007 single “Take You Down” at the Los Angeles stop of the Breezy Bowl XX Tour over the weekend.

In a recap of the performance, Kayla wrote, “I did it for the smart girls, the cool girls, the sexy girls, the fun girls—for all of us who are all of those things at once. And I overly did it for my brown girls, tthhhhaankya.”

Brown seemingly addressed Kayla’s sentiment about “brown girls,” writing in an Instagram story, “Miss me with that colorist rage baiting!!!”

But the singer appeared to change his mind about making the message visible to his Instagram followers, and he later deactivated his account.

“Ima take a break from social media,” he wrote. “Yall done pissed me off long enough.”

Over the years, it has been alleged that Brown has a preference for lighter-skinned and racially ambiguous women. Several of his exes are biracial, including Karrueche Tran, Draya Michele, and Ammika Harris.

Brown has a son, 5-year-old Aeko, with Harris. He also has a daughter, 11-year-old Royalty, with Nia Guzman and 3-year-old Lovely with Diamond Brown.
