Canada Issues Wanted Notice for Nigerian Caregiver Over Alleged Assaults in Toronto Group Home

Canadian authorities have launched a manhunt for a 38-year-old Nigerian national, Oghenemaro Dave Ejerua, over allegations of repeated assaults on vulnerable adults at a group home in Toronto.

In a statement issued on December 31, 2025, the Toronto Police Service said officers responded to a report of an assault in the Sibley and Detonia Park avenues area, leading to investigations that identified Ejerua as the suspect. Police confirmed that he was employed as a caregiver at the facility where the alleged incidents occurred.

According to investigators, Ejerua is accused of carrying out multiple assaults on residents of the group home between November 1 and November 30, 2025. He is currently wanted on seven counts of assault.

Authorities did not reveal the number of victims involved or the severity of injuries, but described the residents as vulnerable adults. Police have appealed to the public to assist in locating the suspect.

Ejerua is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, black curly hair, and black facial hair.

The Toronto Police Service urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement, stressing that public cooperation is vital to ensuring the safety of vulnerable members of the community.
