President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday welcomed the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, to the State House in Abuja, in a meeting centered on national unity, ethical leadership, and shared responsibility for Nigeria’s progress.
Archbishop Kaigama, a prominent voice on national cohesion and social justice, visited the President to extend goodwill and engage in discussions on strengthening peace, religious harmony, and development across the country.
During the private audience, President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society where citizens of all faiths and backgrounds feel valued and protected. He emphasized the role of religious institutions in supporting moral renewal, community development, and peaceful coexistence.

“We will continue to work with all faith leaders to ensure that Nigeria remains a country where unity, tolerance, and respect thrive,” the President said, appreciating the Catholic Church’s long-standing contributions to education, healthcare, and social support in Nigeria.
Archbishop Kaigama praised the government’s ongoing efforts to address national challenges and urged continued prioritization of justice, equity, and good governance. He highlighted the need for collaborative engagement between government, religious institutions, and communities to curb social vices, empower youth, and promote peace.
The Archbishop also prayed for God’s guidance for the President and the nation, expressing optimism that continued dialogue and partnership would help build a more prosperous and harmonious Nigeria.
