Nigerian music superstar Davido and members of his team, including his manager Asa Asika and popular businessman Cubana Chiefpriest, have met with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in Paris.
The high-profile meeting, which took place at the Élysée Palace, underscored France’s growing cultural and economic ties with Africa’s entertainment industry, particularly Nigeria’s globally influential Afrobeats scene.
According to reports, discussions centered on creative industry collaboration, youth empowerment, and cultural exchange between Nigeria and France. President Macron, who has consistently shown interest in African art and music, praised Davido for his global impact and role in promoting African culture through his music.

Davido, whose influence extends beyond entertainment into philanthropy and business, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the French leader. “It’s always a great honor to represent my country and our music on the global stage. Meeting President Macron again was inspiring — we discussed exciting ideas for creative partnerships that will benefit African youths,” he said.
Cubana Chiefpriest, known for his entrepreneurial ventures and support for Nigerian entertainment, described the meeting as “a sign that Nigerian pop culture continues to shape conversations around the world.” He added that the recognition of Afrobeats by global leaders reflects its power as both an art form and an economic driver.
The gathering also included conversations on potential Franco-Nigerian cultural projects, such as music festivals, talent exchange programs, and investment opportunities within the African creative economy.
President Macron has long positioned himself as a bridge between Europe and Africa’s creative communities. He previously hosted Nigerian stars, including Davido, Burna Boy, and Yemi Alade, during the “Africa 2020 Season” cultural event in France, aimed at celebrating African innovation and artistry.
Observers say the latest meeting further cements Davido’s position as one of Africa’s foremost cultural ambassadors and highlights France’s continued interest in strengthening cultural diplomacy through entertainment.
The visit marks another milestone in Davido’s international engagements as he continues his global tour and advocacy for Africa’s creative industries.
