Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and his bride, Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe, has made history by hosting Nigeria’s first wedding on a moving train.
The ceremony which took place on Sunday, happened along the Lagos-Ibadan Standard Gauge Railway.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation also celebrated Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua’s recent wedding on a moving train, describing it as a remarkable and historic event in the country.
Reacting to the viral clips from the ceremony, the NRC took to X ( Formerly Twitter) on Monday to praise the creativity behind the occasion.
“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track.
“History made — the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria.
“Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.
“At NRC, every ride tells a story,” the post read.
The actor and his bride, Sharon Ifunanya, an events planner, exchanged vows aboard a decorated Lagos–Ibadan train which departed from the Mobolaji Johnson Station in Alagomeji-Yaba, Lagos.

The couple transformed one of the coaches into a wedding venue, complete with floral décor, bridesmaids, groomsmen, guests, and officiating ministers, turning the journey into a celebration of love and adventure.
The event has drawn widespread attention online, with many describing it as a refreshing twist on Nigerian weddings and a showcase of creativity in the entertainment and lifestyle space.
Celebrities, including Stan Nze and his wife, Blessing, as well as actor Buchi Franklin, were among those spotted at the event in support of the couple.
