Nollywood actor Afeez Owo has spoken candidly about his 22-year marriage to popular actress Mide Martins, shedding light on how the couple has sustained their relationship and the unique pet names they call each other.
In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Owo revealed that he fondly calls his wife “Iya Alekuleja,” while she refers to him as “Baba Elere.” Though unusual compared to conventional endearments such as “dear” or “honey,” the actor explained that the names reflect the intimacy and closeness they share.
“Our marriage isn’t the kind where the husband has to be overly strict or the wife has to remain overly calm. We’ve built it on balance, and God has been faithful to us,” he said.
Reflecting on their journey, Owo expressed deep appreciation for his wife’s support throughout their marriage. He emphasized that their union has been sustained through patience, love, mutual respect, and divine grace. “22 years of marriage is no small thing. Ajoke, thank you for putting up with me. I swear to God, my wife is not a wicked woman, whether at home or in public,” he said with emotion.
