Media personality Radiogad has weighed in on the surname change that followed the wedding of singer Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola.
The union between the music star and the daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola has sparked debates after Temi chose to drop her maiden name and take on her husband’s surname, Ajibade.
In response, Radiogad shared a video on his Instagram page, expressing his view that Mr Eazi may have made a misstep by giving his surname to Temi.
He suggested that the singer might have gained more by adopting Temi’s surname instead. Radiogad highlighted that marrying into the Otedola family comes with significant prestige, which Mr Eazi could have leveraged by taking on the Otedola name.

He further noted that, in some cases, it is wise for men to embrace their wives’ surnames, particularly when the woman hails from a family with notable influence and standing.
He said: “The biggest mistake Mr Eazi made was giving his surname to Temi Otedola. Mr Eazi na you suppose collect Temi Otedola surname. You no know who you marry? Sometimes a man suppose humble himself, collect surname of a woman especially when you are marrying someone as powerful, influential as Otedola pikin. Mr Eazi if you collect that surname you are doing yourself a favour…”
