Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, popularly known as Sanku, has passed away following a car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.
Sanku’s death was confirmed on Monday by actor Yemi Elesho via social media, sending shockwaves across the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Skit maker Ozain Comedy also confirmed the tragedy on his Instagram story with the post, “Rest well, soldier,” shortly after influencer Jidex also took to TikTok to speak on his death with the caption, “Rest in peace.”
In a chilling coincidence, Sanku had released a skit on August 4 in which he humorously depicted himself in heaven after death.
In the video, he lamented the absence of expected attendees and jokingly asked his partner to join him in hell so they could enjoy life together.
Nollywood actors and fans have taken to social media to express their grief over the comedian’s untimely death.

Sharing heartbreak, Actress Funmi Awelewa wrote. “The pain, the effort, the strength, the struggle… walai nothing make sense. I’m heartbroken. Even film sef never come out! It does not make sense.”
She added that despite her fervent prayers against death, Sanku sadly did not survive.
“When I saw the news online, I quickly sent one of my students who stays close to Bowen hospital, and he told me that he met one of your friends at the hospital who told us that you’re responding to treatment. I prayed……God, we prayed!!! Kilowa de bai Oloun, Haa Olorun oba oo,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Hours after news of Sanku’s death broke, his final video before the fatal road accident went viral.
The clip, which he posted on his TikTok account with over 1.9 million followers on Sunday, showed him praying not to lose his life at the point of reaping the rewards of his hard work
