Speaking on SkySpor’s YouTube channel, Ozat acknowledged Osimhen’s talent but criticized the transfer’s economic implications. “Galatasaray did a great job keeping Osimhen. I am not disputing his performance,” he said. “However, the cost is far above the national economy. I would say the same if Fenerbahçe did it.”
Osimhen’s arrival from Napoli smashed the Turkish transfer record and has generated widespread excitement among Galatasaray fans. But Ozat cautioned that while the Nigerian striker is “a valuable, high-quality, and great player,” Turkish clubs may not be financially equipped to sustain such high-profile acquisitions long-term.
