Arsenal have completed a €63.5 million (£55 million) agreement with Sporting CP for Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal includes €10 million in performance-related add-ons, potentially bringing the total value to €80 million
Gyökeres, 27, has been a standout performer in Portugal, scoring nearly 100 goals over two seasons, including six in the Champions League last season. His prolific form attracted interest from top clubs, but he expressed a strong preference for joining Arsenal.
Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, identified Gyökeres as a key target to bolster the team’s attack.

The transfer faced initial delays due to disagreements over add-on structures, but these issues have been resolved, allowing the deal to proceed .
Gyökeres is expected to undergo a medical examination shortly and could join Arsenal’s pre-season tour in Singapore and Hong Kong ahead of the Premier League season opener against Manchester United on August 17.
This acquisition is part of Arsenal’s broader summer overhaul, which includes signings like Martín Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, bringing the club’s total spending to nearly £200 million.
