A Nigerian man, Haruna Aminu Ali, has finally graduated from the University of Jos after an extraordinary 21-year academic journey.
Haruna, who began his studies in 2005, completed his degree in 2021 and received his official certificate in December 2023. He graduated with a Third Class Honours in Special Education for the Hearing Handicapped under the university’s Faculty of Education.

Despite numerous setbacks and delays, Haruna remained determined to complete his studies. A photo circulating online shows him proudly holding his certificate, accompanied by another man celebrating the milestone alongside him.
His story has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with many expressing admiration for his perseverance, while others questioned the value of such a long academic pursuit.
