The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a revised structure for its service fees, set to take effect from August 1, 2025. This development follows what the Commission described as a thorough assessment of Nigeria’s current economic conditions, increasing operational costs, and extensive consultations with key industry stakeholders.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the CAC explained that the revision is part of its broader strategy to enhance service delivery through more efficient, technology-driven systems. According to the Commission, the new fee structure will impact businesses, legal practitioners, compliance officers, and other stakeholders who frequently engage with the corporate registry for post-incorporation and related services.
The CAC stated that the decision to revise the fees was not taken lightly, but rather guided by the need to maintain quality, responsiveness, and the long-term sustainability of services. The Commission emphasized that the revised fees are modest, competitive, and designed to support the integrity of Nigeria’s corporate regulatory system.

Among the key changes, the fee for voluntary striking-off of companies has been increased from N25,000 to N50,000 for small companies, and from N25,000 to N100,000 for public companies. The cost of relisting a company now stands at N50,000 for private limited or GTE entities and N100,000 for public companies. A self-service due diligence search is now uniformly set at N50,000 across all categories.
The Commission has also revised the cost of requesting an extension to hold an annual general meeting, which now costs N100,000 for public companies and N50,000 for other companies. Historical search reports will now cost between N20,000 and N30,000 per request, while the fee to restrict a director’s residential address is fixed at N25,000. Certified true copies of documents or extracts are now priced at N5,000.
For limited partnerships, the updated fees include N25,000 each for voluntary striking-off and relisting, N10,000 for a letter of good standing, N30,000 for registration and certified documents, and N10,000 for a change of name. In the case of business names, the new fee for voluntary striking-off is N10,000, relisting now costs N25,000, and an application for cessation stands at N10,000. A certified copy of a document or extract now costs N5,000, and restricting a proprietor’s address is set at N25,000.
While the name reservation fee remains unchanged at N1,000, reservations involving restricted words will now attract a fee of N5,000.
The Commission reiterated that the full list of revised fees is available on its official website, www.cac.gov.ng, and encouraged all stakeholders to review the updates in preparation for the August 1 implementation date.
Despite the upward adjustment in fees, the CAC insists that the move is not merely about increasing revenue but about ensuring that services remain timely, reliable, and secure. The Commission reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, accountability, and customer satisfaction, promising a more responsive and resilient regulatory environment for businesses operating in Nigeria.
