Victor Osimhen’s Alleged Family

A viral video has surfaced online showing two men who claim to be relatives of Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, calling him out for allegedly abandoning his hometown and family since rising to fame.

In the video, filmed in what is described as Osimhen’s family house in his local government area in Edo State, the men—identified as Omuyiwa John and Monday Egbe—alleged that Osimhen has not returned to his roots or offered any support to the people he grew up with.

According to them, they share the same grandfather with the footballer and even supported his late father, Patrick Osimhen, during hard times. They narrated how the family allegedly rallied together to assist Osimhen’s father when he came back from Lagos, claiming he had no money. They claimed they contributed funds to help bury Osimhen’s mother at the time.

They partly said …

“The father is of the same grandfather with me, we surprise how that boy say he no know say…,, the father grew from here, we attended the same primary school here. From here he learnt driving before him comot. That time him never marry, him marry from Lagos….”

One of the men said:

“We all grew up here. We went to the same primary school. When the father came from Lagos, he said he had no money. The whole family gathered money to support him. But since Osimhen blew, he hasn’t come back—not even when his father died. They buried him in Lagos.”

They expressed their disappointment that Osimhen allegedly cut ties with the family, even after becoming a successful footballer known worldwide. One man claimed the community was filled with joy when Osimhen rose to stardom and remembered how the Edo State governor once brought a TV to the palace so villagers could watch his game.

They ended by questioning why he hasn’t returned home or shown appreciation, despite the help they claim the family gave his parents in their time of need.
